Woodwork for Inventor is furniture design software that is fully integrated into Autodesk Inventor. These two software packages combined make a great 3D woodworking design tool for furniture designers. It doesn’t matter if you are making kitchen furniture, cupboards or any other cabinetry, Woodwork for Inventor will help you by automating processes (routine tasks to start the preparation of manufacturing processes), thereby removing potential errors. Using our woodworking software, designers have more time for creativity, enabling them to work more efficiently and accurately. Woodwork for Inventor software is available in English, French, German, Russian, Polish, Italian and Spanish languages.

The Woodwork for Inventor functionality greatly facilitates and accelerates the constructor’s work when creating the skeleton of the furniture item. The set of DressUp features contains commands which, based on the volume of the furniture item’s shape, enable convenient and quick creation of boards. In order for the command to create the board body automatically, you simply need to indicate the surface of the selected volume, the thickness of the board and its position with respect to the surface. This is an easy way to create different shelves by indicating the body of the board that has already been created and by specifying the thickness of the board and the shelf offset distance.
To create the board body, you may use the section of the working surface and of the furniture item’s shape. This section is also automatically transformed into a board. All the board bodies may be trimmed based on the result that the constructor is trying to achieve. Everything that has been modeled in this way automatically saves parameter connections and may be quickly and easily modified at any design stage. You can later easily turn this skeleton into a standard Autodesk Inventor assembly and continue to use it at the assembly level.

Woodwork for Inventor adds an extra feature to the Autodesk Inventor software which allows the user to easily and visually assign furniture materials (Solid wood, Board, Laminated board, Multilayer board, Rod, Desktop, Veneer/film, Edge banding, Paint) to parts using the data base which can be freely added to by the user.

Depending on the material assigned, different methods of material calculation as well as their visualization in reports are used. In this way, a board is calculated in sq. meters, profile is calculated in length, etc.

Such a wide selection of material types allows for the construction of wood product of different range and complexity from cabinet furniture to stairs, wooden windows and other wood products.

Calculation of materials for tube parts or sheet metal parts allows for the use of metal articles in a structure and keeping track of their materials.

During the design process or when deriving data for production, a mass replacement of one material by another can be easily performed on parts. This allows you to work with abstract materials which define the function of the furniture part in respect of its design (e. g. facade material, cabinet material, glass, cheap material for internal parts, facade edge band, etc.). In the preparatory stage of production, it is easy to replace such materials by particular materials used in production. This work method helps to reduce the amount of stored models and quickly prepare information required to start production based on different furniture material configurations.

Woodwork for Inventor supports the design of both simple and composite parts as well as fully automated calculation of materials for those parts. Based on the part geometry, material pattern direction and specified allowances, blanks have automatically calculated sizes, i. e. length, width and height which are used in generating data for reports and calculating required quantities of materials.
